Rides recommenced on Saturday 3 April 2021 

WE'RE BACK!

We are pleased to announce that rides recommenced at the Easter Weekend. Initially rides will be restricted to 6, including the leader and must be booked in advance. There will be at least one rest stop to consume your own refreshments.   




3Parks Cycle Route
Rides along the new 3Parks traffic-free cycle route will restart during the summer. Check back for details of future rides or explore the route yourself at 3parks.org.uk


Sunday 2nd May at 2 pm from Balsall Common library CV7 7EL. A 17 mile ride along Route M8 with a short rest stop. Please bring your own refreshments Finish by about 5 pm

Tuesday 4th May at 7 pm from Catherine-de-Barnes, The Boat Inn B91 2TJ. A 9 mile Evening Explorer ride along Route S3 with a short rest stop. Please bring your own refreshments Finish by about 9 pm



Saturday 8 May at 9.30 am from Lapworth Rail Station B94 6JJ A Saturday Stretcher of up to 30 miles on a route planned by the leader. Please bring own refreshments although a refreshment/toilet stop may be included if open facilities allow. Finish about 1 pm.



Sunday 9 May at 2 pm from Monkspath Shops  B90 4EH. A 6 mile Taster ride along Route T6 with a short rest stop. Finish by 3.30 pm


Thursday 13th May at 7 pm from Dorridge rail station B93 8JA. A 9 mile Evening Explorer ride along Route S1 with a short rest stop. Please bring your own refreshments Finish by about 9 pm



Saturday 15th May at 9.30 am from Coleshill Parkfield Rd car park B46 3NT. A Saturday Stretcher of up to 30 miles on a route planned by the leader. Please bring own refreshments although a refreshment/toilet stop may be included if open facilities allow. Finish about 1 pm.


Sunday 16th May at 2 pm from Dorridge Station B93 8JA. A 21 mile ride along Route L1. Please bring own refreshments although a refreshment/toilet stop may be included if open facilities allow. Finish about 5.30 pm


Tuesday 18th May at 7 pm from Coleshill Parkfield Rd car park B46 3NT. A 11 mile Evening Explorer ride along Route S15 with a short rest stop. Please bring your own refreshments Finish by about 9 pm

Ride bookings are free and made through Ticketsource which is widely used for event bookings. Personal information collected during the booking process will not be used by Cyclesolihull or Ticketsource for any reason not connected with the booking. Bookings are confirmed and tickets issued by email. You should bring your printed ticket or electronic copy (for example the confirmation email on your phone) with you in case of any queries.  
(L= left, R=right, SO = straight on).

Elmdon Park to Old Rectory Farm ( 2.3 miles, 18 minutes) or the Aircraft Viewing Area (1.9 miles, 15 minutes)

Starting from Elmdon Park lower car park (off Tanhouse Farm Road B92 9EY) Go L on to the path behind the car park and turn R on to the main route, passing the playground. Cross the bridge and turn L at the next junction.
(From the alternative upper car park by St Nicholas Church B92 9EJ, follow the wide path down the hill bearing R at the bottom. Go SO at the next junction to join the route below).
Follow this path for 0.5 miles eventually joining a quiet cul-de-sac (Streamside Way ) for 100 yards. Cross, with care, the next road (Valley Road) and rejoin the path leading to the busy A45 (Coventry Road).
Bear R to cross at the Toucan to rejoin the path opposite. Follow this for 0.7 miles, crossing the Hatchford Brook and ignoring the triangular path junction on the L.
To Visit Old Rectory Farm, the playground, cafe and St Giles’ Church, turn L at the next junction (to continue instead to the Aircraft Viewing Area go SO at this junction for 0.4 miles).
At the end go L onto the path besides Westley Brook. Follow this path for 0.5 miles crossing the brook twice. Turn next R to reach the playground and farm.

Old Rectory Farm (Ragley Drive, B26 3TU) to the Aircraft Viewing Area (1 mile, 8 minutes)
From the car park take the path past the playground. At the end turn L and follow the path along Westley Brook, Crossing it twice. At the path crossroads take the segregated path L and then next R towards the wooded area. Continue SO the viewing area

Aircraft Viewing Area to Meriden Park (1.7 miles, 13 minutes)
Continue SO and at the next junction go L onto a narrower path to pass under the railway viaduct, eventually reaching a road (Bell Lane). Cross at the toucan and rejoin the path opposite.
Follow this wide path to the end. At the road (Gloucester Way) go R on to the path beside the road across the bridge. Cross Gloucester Way with care to rejoin the route on the other side of Kingshurst Brook. Go SO for 0.7 miles, passing Alcott Wood and under two main roads. The brook widens into a lake as you enter Meriden Park. Go straight on to reach the playground and Adventure Playground.

Return to Old Rectory Farm and/or Elmdon Park by retracing your steps.
