the low down on Saturday Stretcher Rides Saturday Stretcher Rides are the longest of the regular Cyclesolihull rides and take place on the first Saturday of the month at 10 am, starting from four different places in the borough (more information on start points). The rides are 20 to 25 miles long and there is no fixed route. The leader will decide the route on the day and may vary it depending on the wishes of the riders and the weather conditions. Although most of the ride will be on the quiet roads there may be some short sections on busier roads. Saturday Stretcher Rides are a good way of going a little further with Cyclesolihull. Although they are not very fast rides, they do attract some of the more experienced cyclists so tend to be a little faster than the other rides between the 'catch up' stops. If you are new to cycling we advise you to try the shorter Sunday Cycle Rides and Evening Explorer rides first. Saturday Stretcher Rides are not suitable for small children but older teenagers who are used to cycling longer distances on roads are very welcome. Saturday Stretcher Rides finish between 1 pm and 2 pm Still too short or to slow? If you want to go further and faster you might like to join a local cycling club which will have a range of longer rides. |

Try Cyclesolihull's other rides: Sunday Cycle Rides take place most Sundays at 2 pm during the spring and summer. They are between 10 and 20 miles long, depending on which of the 19 Cyclesolihull routes is being cycled. Evening Explorer rides are on alternate Wednesdays from mid-May to early August. They start at 7 pm from various locations and are about 10 miles long, following the shorter 'S' routes. There is a pub refreshment stop of about 30 minutes and the ride will finish before 9 pm. Taster Rides are occasional shorter rides of about 5 miles long. They start at 2 PM and there is a refreshment stop. These rides are an ideal introduction to Cyclesolihull rides for new cyclists and families with children. They are just like the other rides but much shorter!
