Founded in 1937, SRA’s aim is to make Solihull a lovely and lively place to live, work – and cycle!.

Although the Association theoretically comprises Silhill and St Alphege wards (Solihull 91 and 92), its aim is to address issues Borough-wide.

Its enthusiastic Committee discourages moaning and promotes action, maintaining constant liaison with local Councillors – all St Alphege and Silhill Councillors are vice-presidents and attend Committee meetings and AGMs, as well as submitting articles to the quarterly Newsletter, "The Messenger".

"The Messenger" contains regular articles about and by the Police, detailed information about planning applications, wide-ranging articles on Conservation and the Environment, on Cycling Matters and Transport in general and on topics of varied and local interest.

There are four general Membership meetings per year with guest speakers: recent topics have included Birmingham Airport’s expansion plans and the Fire Service.
